Open letter sent to all the Belgian members of Parliament
SUBJECT: Zou dit mogelijk zijn ? Est-ce que ceci serait possible ? Would this be possible ?
TO: all the members of the Belgian Parliament as listed this afternoon.
BODY:
Bonjour / goeiedag,
Would it be possible to create three toplevel domains namely .vl (Vlaanderen), .bxl (Bruxelles) and .wa (la Wallonie) ?
Its a form of autonomy that already granted at .hk (Hong-Kong) and .tw (Taiwan).
It doesn't cost a lot but would main a lot to many people in Flanders.
On the other hand, I would suggest introducing a real federal election of the Belgian senate.
I know both proposals won't be easy for some of you, but I to believe a change from a federation to a confederation has already taken place in the minds and hearts of many here in Flanders.
Most of us don't want to see Belgium disappear, especially the monarchy and the solidarity amongst Belgians are vital to me, Belgium is a frontrunner of the Benelux and of Europe: if we can't make it function in our country, why would Europe function correctly ?
More autonomy would mean no more excuses for all politician to deal with the real social, economical and ecological problems that are coming up.
