The web moves to the next level...

Ning.com proves the capability of the web to build a new layer to his own infrastructure.

I call these innovations we are seeing netware:

almost everything you used to install programs for is now web-based available...

Even desktops are ! [see http://desktoptwo.com]

All you need is a multimediacomputer with a standard webbrowser installed on it...

Do you really believe that the moon exists only when you look at it?

“ Schrödinger and Heisenberg independently uncovered dual descriptions of particles and atoms. Later, the theories proved equivalent. Then in 1926 Heisenberg’s previous advisor, Max Born, discovered why no one had found a physical interpretation for Schrödinger’s wave function. They are not physical waves at all; rather the wave function includes all the possible states of a system. Before a measurement those states exist in superposition, wherein every possible outcome is described at the same… Continue

Fact or fiction ?

Fact or fiction ? It isn't as easy as it seems... What laptop does Steve Ballmer use for his presentations? Very nice posting ! it's a real discussion about what a fact is. The only thing that appears to be certain is that there is in the picture like we see it an MacBook with a nice Microsoft sign in front of it. See also the discussion about Wikipedia and… Continue

The truth according to Wikipedia

As a sort of apotheosis, the premiere of the documentary The truth according to Wikipedia was presented at The Next Web Conference. http://thenextweb.org/2008/04/01/thenextweb2008-update-the-truth-according-to-wikipedia/ In the blogarticle "The People versus The Expert" Tessa Sterkenburg expresses her views on the truth balancing between the expert and the blogger (calling "Anna Frank" a blog… Continue

Dataportability

I’ve just joined http://dataportability.onconfluence.com/.. because dataportability makes a lot of sense for any early adopter of new social websites Name, age, bio, favorite quote, favorite books, favorite TV programs, etc. How many time do we still have to enter all this information ? “It’s on the web already, so just copy and sync with it, please…” is a thought that crosses your mind at that moment. Dataportability will assure us thi… Continue

The Theory of Everything (or at least a quite serious contender for being it)

Via an Dutch article at Grenswetenschap.nl I found out about An Exceptionally Simple Theory of Everything of the American surfing dr. Garrett Lisi. It's a theory needing far less dimensions than the Super String Theory. With a link to an article in de… Continue

Dear Pieter,

Thanks for the invitation to become an administrator. If you don't mind, I would like to politely decline at this time. I don't feel I can currently devote the time to give you the kind of results either of us would be satisfied with. :(

Stephen

P.S. I also hesitate to install software on my computer. But I also don't keep my browser open all the time. FWIW, I tried other twitter clients like AlertThing, Spaz, and Twhirl before settling on Wizzy.

Hello, Pieter!

I do indeed use microblogging! I use Twitter and Pownce, primarily. I also use some of the "lifestream" tools like FriendFeed and MyBlogLog, because they interface with Twitter and/or Pownce. I typically post to Twitter or Pownce through the Flock browser, but I also use a WPF client called Witty to post to and receive notifications from Twitter. I tried using Pownce Monkey but found I didn't use it very much, because I only have about half a dozen followers on Pownce; while I have 80-some followers on Twitter.

Thanks for asking!
Stephen
